ROCHAS Spring Summer 2018

Rochas, Sonia Rykiel, Ellery Spring Summer 2018. Rochas by Alessandro Dell’Acqua’s spring summer 2018 collection was a piercing color story, a fantastically rich fabric story, a story of opulent Orientalism fused with haute, retro attitude. It was a story of resistance, a refusal to cow to the casualization of current culture. He made a fabulous case for dressing up.  There were duchess satin poufs under a sparkling Eiffel Tower.

SONIA RYKIEL Spring Summer 2018

Rochas, Sonia Rykiel, Ellery Spring Summer 2018. Sonia Rykiel by Julie de Libran. “Girls with Pearls go Left Bank Paris” – spring summer 2018 collection.
A personal exploration of the essence of femininity, Left Bank style.
Riffing on the aphrodisiac symbolism of an oyster and the beauty of the pearl that’s born of it, evocative of the playful sensuality of the Rykiel woman, spliced with re-contextualised Vichy checks – as reminiscent of a rive gauche café as stripes are of 175 St Germain des Près.

ELLERY Spring Summer 2018

Rochas, Sonia Rykiel, Ellery Spring Summer 2018. Kym Ellery’s spring summer 2018 collection was about futuristic women of romantic past. “The collection is inspired very much by the forward thinkers from the early 20th century, the scientists who questioned and challenged concepts, such as the speed of light. That had us thinking about our industry and how we best should approach it, and the woman of the future,” said Kym Ellery. “What if one day we’re all taking our summer vacation on Venus?”
