A Constellation of Beauty and Meaning
For Holiday 2025, CHANEL does not merely propose gifts. The House constructs a celestial language—one that speaks of signs, talismans, and the quiet power of symbols observed in the night sky. Beauty becomes navigation. Fragrance and makeup become markers in a constellation designed to guide desire, intention, and imagination.
Gabrielle Chanel, famously attentive to superstition and signs, found reassurance in the immensity of the stars. This sensibility resurfaces today through a collection that looks upward, revisiting five emblematic symbols that have long inhabited the House’s universe: the lion, the comet, the camellia, wheat, and pearls. Each appears not as ornament, but as a bearer of meaning—power, luck, harmony, prosperity, brilliance—translated into texture, light, and scent.
The Cosmic Face
The Holiday Makeup Collection unfolds like a night sky in motion. Created by the CHANEL Makeup Creation Studio in collaboration with Cécile Paravina of the COMETES COLLECTIVE, it explores duality: the depth of night and the flare of astral light.
Complexion is treated as a surface of reflection. Les Signes de Chanel, an exclusive duo of blush and illuminator, embosses the five symbols like a star map, casting satin radiance across the skin—rose tinged with lunar coolness, peach warmed by solar gold. It is not theatrical glow, but deliberate luminosity, as if measured by the cosmos itself.
Eyes turn upward with Les 4 Ombres – Nuit Astrale, where blue-grey matte, silvered violet, soft lavender, and aqua highlights create a gaze suspended between shadow and brilliance. Metallic flashes—orange and red liners like meteor trails—cut across the lash line, while a deep anthracite mascara grounds the look in nocturnal elegance. Lips, meanwhile, oscillate between velvet restraint and lacquered intensity: cosmic rose, molten red, magenta-inflected incandescence. Even the nails participate in the celestial dialogue, shifting between fire and ice with slate-blue and alchemist orange finishes.
This is makeup conceived as rhythm—light emerging, fading, reappearing—never static, never excessive.
Fragrance as Symbol
If makeup charts the sky, fragrance marks the path.
The Holiday Perfume Selection extends the symbolic vocabulary into ritual objects designed for gifting and keeping. Limited-edition presentations cloak CHANEL’s most iconic scents in lunar whites, deep blues, and iridescent finishes, echoing the quiet luxury of winter light.
N°5 L’Huile Or Blanc appears as a comet’s trace on skin—an illuminated oil infused with nacre, extending the abstract floral signature while treating the body as a surface of glow. COCO MADEMOISELLE returns in a pearlescent oil iteration, pairing sensual warmth with radiant softness. These formats shift fragrance from invisible aura to tactile experience, making scent something both worn and seen.
Iconic eaux de parfum—N°5, COCO MADEMOISELLE, CHANCE Eau Splendide, BLEU DE CHANEL, ALLURE HOMME SPORT—are gathered beneath the same celestial language, unified by exclusive holiday cases. Each becomes a symbolic offering rather than a simple object: power, chance, elegance, clarity.
A Quiet Form of Magic
What distinguishes CHANEL Holiday 2025 is restraint. The House does not shout celebration; it proposes contemplation. Light is calibrated. Symbols are deliberate. Nothing feels accidental.
Far from seasonal excess, CHANEL chooses continuity—reminding us that beauty, like astrology, is a system of belief as much as aesthetics. To give a CHANEL holiday piece is to offer more than color or scent. It is to pass along a sign, a gesture, a moment of alignment beneath the winter sky.
This season, CHANEL invites us not to sparkle indiscriminately—but to shine with intention.
