Archives! Creative Director of Schiaparelli Daniel Roseberry has been grounded after a series of controversies for the last couple of years. And the pieces we saw today are absolutely wonderful, refined and modern. How great the designs of Elsa Schiaparelli look today on denim and other modern fabrics. 

Schiaparelli wardrobe. “Of all Elsa Schiaparelli’s legacies, her most enduring might have been her marriage of art and fashion. Elsa became famous for her couture, but her career debut was those then- groundbreaking trompe l’oeil knits. Pure sportswear, they were an aggressive rebuke of everything frilly and flouncy, knitwear that was easy to slip on—and off (you can think of them as the athleisure wear of their age). Those early sweaters were among the first of her many “viral” moments over the course of her brief but influential career,” –  Press-Release. 

Maybe it’s not exactly that, maybe it’s not exactly sportswear, but it is a good start. Young Schiaparelli lover Gabriela Gheorghe compared the pieces from the 1930s with the ones we saw today on the runway.
