New York’s skyline never fails to impress, but from the 48th floor of the Solow Building, where Carolina Herrera’s Fall 2025-2026 collection unfolded, the city is nothing short of breathtaking. Snow-dusted Central Park stretched below, its usual chaos silenced at this altitude. It was an apt setting for a brand that has always traded in a certain untouchable elegance—an airbrushed, uptown fantasy. Wes Gordon, at the helm of Herrera, knows this dream well. But he also knows it needs pruning and replanting for a new generation.
And so, amid a garden of 3,000 cherry-red ranunculus, a nod to Being There, the 1979 Peter Sellers film that shaped Gordon’s childhood, he delivered a collection that balanced Herrera’s polished heritage with a fresh sensuality. “As long as the roots are not severed, all is well and all will be well,” says Chance the Gardener in the film. Gordon took that lesson to heart, tending to the brand’s classic codes while letting them grow in unexpected directions.

Florals—an Herrera signature—flourished. They climbed like vines up strapless evening gowns, appeared in prints and jacquards, and bloomed in gold as brooches. The most striking iteration? A singular, oversized flower unfurling at the waistline of the sleek black trousers that opened the show. “It’s definitely the sexiest and sharpest I’ve done with Herrera,” Gordon remarked. And he wasn’t wrong.
Sharpness was a throughline: a pinstriped suit sliced away at the midriff, long column skirts paired with bandeau tops, and the house’s iconic white button-down reimagined—this time, oversized and tunic-length, floating over lace cage skirts. The message was clear: tradition isn’t being abandoned, just restructured.
Not every experiment bloomed. Some of the double-breasted suits with full pants felt out of step with the collection’s youthful pulse. A little less watering might have done them good. But overall, Gordon’s vision was clear—Carolina Herrera remains an oasis of refinement, but one where modern romance is allowed to grow wild.
