Céline Dion in Chanel

When Céline Dion steps onto a Paris stage, pop spectacle yields to pure Parisian discipline. Opening her final Paris shows of 2026, the legendary vocalist orchestrated a historic full circle with the house of CHANEL, stepping out in a custom Haute Couture gown imagined by Matthieu Blazy and crowned by the maison’s most storied high jewellery iconography.

This was no casual red carpet borrowing. The look served as a deliberate homage to one of Dion’s most iconic fashion milestones: the 69th Academy Awards in 1997, where she stunned the world in CHANEL Spring/Summer 1997 Haute Couture. Nearly three decades later, Blazy picked up that thread, translating archival memory into an authoritative contemporary silhouette.

The Savoir-Faire Behind the Stage: 31 Rue Cambon to le19M

True Haute Couture belongs to the hand, and Dion’s gown brought the full weight of Paris’s artisan ecosystem into the spotlight:

  • The Salons at 31 Rue Cambon: The custom gown was cut, draped, and finished entirely by hand inside CHANEL’s historic couture ateliers, tailored with razor precision to command an arena without losing an ounce of architectural rigor.
  • Atelier Montex Embroidery: To catch and fracture the stage lights, resident le19M embroidery house Atelier Montex executed bespoke needlework across the silhouette, engineering subtle kinetic shimmer with every vocal shift.
  • Massaro Footwear: Completing the line with traditional discipline, bespoke black satin pumps were crafted specifically for Dion by Massaro, the legendary bottier residing at le19M.

An Emblem in Diamonds: The 1932 COMÈTE

The emotional anchor of the appearance rested at the neckline. Dion wore a CHANEL High Jewellery COMÈTE necklace, paying direct tribute to the diamond piece she wore on that famous 1997 Oscars carpet.

Drawn from Gabrielle Chanel’s legendary 1932 Bijoux de Diamants—the only High Jewellery collection Mademoiselle ever designed—the shooting star motif captured the exact spirit of the night: timeless, celestial, and unshakeable. It wasn’t just a costume for a concert; it was an unequivocal statement of couture royalty reclaiming Paris.
