Dior, ever the innovator, has decided to venture into new territory by inviting British racing driver Lewis Hamilton to design a capsule collection. Yes, the same Lewis Hamilton who, for the last three years, has consistently secured the exhilarating 5th and 6th places in Formula One. Clearly, this level of racing prowess translates seamlessly into the world of high fashion. To coincide with his recent honor of being named a co-chair for next year’s Met Gala, Hamilton presented his capsule collection at a very closed, and very exclusive cocktail party in London.
The collection, described as embodying a “lifestyle” worn by certain named stars – none of whom, incidentally, appear to be known to anyone outside of this carefully curated circle – was unveiled with the appropriate level of fanfare. Not that the absence of recognizable names matters. In fashion, context is everything, and apparently, so is exclusivity.
The highlight of the collection? Hamilton’s transformation of the Dior logo. In what can only be described as either an artistic breakthrough or a severe graphical glitch, the iconic “D” has been given a radical makeover. Hamilton’s interpretation leaves us with something resembling an inkblot test in a funhouse mirror – deformed, blurred, and thoroughly perplexing. This visual masterpiece is undoubtedly aimed at those who prefer their fashion logos to be illegible.

The collection, which is supposedly aimed at lovers of the “sporty lifestyle,” features the following looks:
- Lewis Hamilton himself showcased a blue and yellow technical canvas blouson with new remade Dior logo paired with blue denim pants and B44 sneakers. It’s unclear whether this outfit was intended for a casual day on the track or a casual day at a private cocktail party, but no matter—it served its purpose.
- Miles Chamley-Watson wore a blue cotton zipped hoodie with new remade Dior logo, with denim cargo pants and green B44 Blade sneakers. Cargo pants, of course, have become the ultimate symbol of practical luxury in today’s high racing world.
- Honey Dijon, known more for her DJing than her affinity for cashmere, wore a pink wool and cashmere crewneck with new remade Dior logo, complemented by white denim pants and black Carlo Derbies. Clearly, the color scheme was carefully chosen to reflect the bold neutrality of the event.
- James Nelson-Joyce opted for a green wool and cashmere crewneck with new remade Dior logo, with grey cotton large pants and green B44 sneakers. This understated look, no doubt, epitomizes the capsule’s commitment to blending comfort and sports.
- Noah Jupe graced the evening with a striped wool zipped cardigan with new remade Dior logo, complete with thumbholes, because thumbholes are now an essential aspect of contemporary style. He completed the look with black Carlo Derbies, offering a perfect blend of rebellion and restraint.
The list goes on. Each guest carefully adorned themselves in variations of oversized wool crewnecks, technical canvases, and B44 sneakers, proving that Hamilton’s collection is nothing if not consistent. Every piece featured the now-deformed Dior logo – because why settle for the instantly recognizable when you can blur it beyond recognition?
In summary, Dior’s capsule collection, guest-designed by Lewis Hamilton, is a masterclass in blending sporty aesthetics with high fashion obscurity. It remains to be seen how this capsule will resonate with the public, but given the track record of its designer, one can assume it will be met with the same level of enthusiasm as his latest Formula One standings.
