Dolce & Gabbana Alta Moda at Forte Village in Sardinia was not just a fashion show—it was a celebration of culture, tradition, and the meticulous craftsmanship that has defined the brand for over a decade.
Each piece in the collection was a testament to the artisanal mastery that is beyond imagination. The intricate filigree work, inspired by Sardinia’s deep cultural roots, transformed hand-woven tubular fabrics into breathtaking three-dimensional patterns. The blend of gold threads into corsets, bras, jewel-encrusted bodices, and belts was not just visually stunning; it was a heartfelt homage to the island’s heritage and the timeless elegance of Made in Italy craftsmanship.

Dolce & Gabbana unveiled the art of carving in a tribute to Sardinian craftsmanship and culture. Detailed engravings and embroidery techniques transformed mikado and velvet organza into elaborate designs, each piece a masterpiece of Dolce & Gabbana Fatto A Mano. The patterns, embellished with sequined motifs, brought the garments to life, weaving a narrative of Sardinia’s enigmatic past with the brand’s signature artistry.
For twelve years, Dolce & Gabbana have honored Italy’s regional handmade techniques, and this year, the focus was on Sardinia, the second largest island in the Mediterranean. The stunning jewelry, with gigantic colorful gems arranged into hearts, feathers, and medallions, showcased the monumental tradition of Italian craftsmanship. Filigree, a millennia-old technique that turns gold into lace, has been present on the island since Phoenician times, evolving through Arab and Spanish influences. This rich heritage was beautifully captured in the collection, each piece a fusion of history and innovation.
The details were evocative of the coccòi pintau, a traditional island bread made with hard dough. This true art form, with no two perfect pieces, involves using knives, scissors, and tongs to create special engravings and patterns. The collection echoed this uniqueness with floral and faunal motifs that symbolized the island’s ancestral symbols found in paganism and early Christianity.
Another striking trend was the use of chains, braided with gold, diamonds, and colored stones like sapphires, topaz, spinels, and rubies. The references to Sardinian folk and religious ceremonies were evident in the gold buttons, reminiscent of the Phoenician goddess Tanit, and curls adorned with dangling charms. Cherubs made of gold and carrying diamonds added a touch of divine elegance, embodying the blend of spiritual and cultural heritage.
As the night unfolded, it became clear that Dolce & Gabbana had created more than just a fashion collection. They had woven a tapestry of Sardinian culture, tradition, and craftsmanship into each garment, each piece a story, each detail a tribute. The Alta Moda collection was a symphony of textures, colors, and emotions, a celebration of the island’s rich past and the timeless elegance that defines Dolce & Gabbana.
This event was a reminder that fashion, at its highest form, is an art. It is a medium through which stories are told, emotions are evoked, and cultures are celebrated. Dolce & Gabbana Alta Moda was a heartfelt love letter to Sardinia, a testament to the beauty of handmade Italian craftsmanship, and a breathtaking showcase of tradition and innovation.
