DOLCE GABBANA Fall-Winter 2020-2021 Milan Fashion Week Ready-to-Wear. “Fatto A Mano” (“Handmade”) collection of Dolce Gabbana is a tribute to great Italian tradition of handmade fabrics, knits, embroideries, the great tradition which was transferred from generation to generation. It is hard to talk about it, but this collection was created as if Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana knew about the tragedy which was about to happen and take so many lives in Lombardy, Northern region of Italy, the epicenter of coronavirus. This collection became a tribute to the great savoir-fare, a tribute manifested that tradition is transferred to the young ones, tradition will be alive.
“Craftsmanship is a precious art that must be handed down from generation to generation. A simple gesture can contain all the secrets of a craft and only in preserving it can we understand the real value of the handmade. It’s a dialogue between tradition and future,” – Dolce Gabbana.
Black, white, knitting patterns, embroideries are the most beautiful handmade tradition in Italy. And of course “little bit of Rock-n-roll” touched added to it by the designers reached the young generation, who like to wear tailored masculine shirts and jackets. Let’s say it is a “Back to the Feature” handmade in Italy.
