Elie Saab’s latest couture collection reaffirms the designer’s unwavering love for dazzling embellishments. Among the opulent parade, only six looks emerged in solid colors, showcasing Saab’s penchant for intricate details and embellishments that have become synonymous with his name.
The collection boasts a glitzy array of encrusted laces, crystal embroideries, gold-trimmed cutouts, organza petals, and 3D flower-shaped appliqués crafted from feathers. Jennifer Lopez, bedecked in a majestic trailing cape adorned with feathery flowers, made a captivating entrance that left photographers in awe. Seated regally in the front row, she witnessed the parade of pastel-hued evening dresses that defined the runway.
Out of the six solid-colored looks, three dresses in various tones of red silk, a sculpted ballgown in shell-pink silk duchesse, a draped concoction in cerulean gazar, and a flowing robe de soir in chartreuse lamé stood out amidst the embellished extravagance. Saab’s creations, meticulously crafted by his dedicated atelier, transport fashion into a fantastical realm reminiscent of fairy tales.
While this season’s inspiration drew from the magic of Marrakesh and the mystery of the desert rose, Saab’s keen eye for red carpet glamour remains evident. The collection features slender silhouettes enhanced by undulating side panels, cape-sleeves, bell sleeves, and stoles that gracefully elongate into regal trains. “I like royalty,” Saab stated backstage, alluding to his aspiration for his designs to grace the grandeur of prestigious events like the Oscars.
As Saab continues to enchant the fashion world with his astounding craftsmanship and flair for splendor, the star-studded front row at his show attests to the enduring allure of his creations. Elie Saab’s Haute Couture Spring/Summer 2024 is not just a collection; it’s a dazzling ode to opulence, a testament to the designer’s ability to seamlessly blend fantasy with the red carpet reality.
