A mirage of history, a vision of the future—Fendi’s Fall/Winter 2025-2026 collection unfolded like a time-spanning reverie, celebrating 100 years of the house’s legacy. In a set evoking the original Fendi atelier where the five Fendi sisters shaped an empire, Silvia Venturini Fendi wove past and present into a seamless dialogue of sensuality, rigor, irony, and restraint.

A Flashback, A Flash Forward

For Silvia Venturini Fendi, the centennial collection was never about archival nostalgia. Instead of diving into the physical records of the brand, she chose to translate personal and imagined memories into a contemporary narrative. That duality—intimate recollection meeting forward momentum—was evident from the show’s poetic opening.

Supersized replicas of the atelier’s original doors stood at the end of the runway, where Silvia’s grandchildren, Tazio and Dardo, both six years old, echoed a moment from the past: dressed in replicas of the equestrian outfit she wore at Karl Lagerfeld’s first Fendi show in 1966. Five generations of Fendi in one moment—a profound tribute to the house’s creative lineage.

A House Shaped by Women

Co-ed shows often struggle with balance, but this was always going to be a collection where womenswear reigned supreme. While menswear played its part—mohair knits in bold degrade stripes, mink coats in tonal zigzags, and a striking lemon-yellow caban coat—the show ultimately celebrated a house led by generations of women.

And Silvia made that clear, reinforcing Fendi’s mastery beyond fur. Collarless coats and dresses featured removable fur facades, transforming mohair and shearling into sculptural statements. The blockbuster fur coats were all crafted in shearling, save for the signature zigzag minks. Meanwhile, lace-edged drop-waist gowns, check separates, quilted leather banana-shouldered dresses, and the house’s signature Pequin stripes traced the evolution of style across decades without fixating on any single era.

The netted beanies—a quiet homage to Adele Fendi, who always framed her face with netting over her chignon. Tonight, those chignons were twisted into an infinity-symbol figure-eight, a subtle nod to the enduring cycle of creativity at Fendi.

A Century of Fendi

The show was more than a retrospective; it was an assertion that Fendi’s history is still being written. The newly announced fur atelier, set to open in Milan this September, reaffirms the brand’s commitment to craftsmanship while adapting to a shifting industry. The red-spotted dress—a dazzling example of Fendi’s technical prowess—stood as a testament to that continued evolution.

“Fendi reminds me of the future. I didn’t want to spend too much time dwelling on the physical archives. For me, Fendi 100 is more about my personal memories – real or imagined – of what Fendi was and what Fendi means today.” – Silvia Venturini Fendi

If this collection is any indication, the Fendi legacy will remain timeless. And should Tazio and Dardo someday find themselves at the helm, as their grandmother once did, they will inherit not just a name, but a vision—a century in motion, forever reaching forward.
