Herman van Gestel – a photographer of light. He is sensitive… over sensitive and probably that’s why is capable to capture the light in all its glory and all colors. His remarkable style recognized and appreciated by Giorgio Armani fashion house, by Samsung, by VOGUE – you name it. Countless photographs capturing light came from the camera of Herman van Gestel.
Herman van Gestel understanding of power of light came from his study of Aviation and Aerospace Engineering. When it became passion he choose different way, where he could explore the light with his feelings, and instead of studying the light he decided to capture it. That brought Herman van Gestel to the photography. He finished Royal Academy of Art in The Hague.
His photography are sold in limited numbers through art-representatives in New York, London, Ibiza, Cannes, Quatar and Abu-Dhabi. Herman van Gestel has collaborated with L’Oréal, Helena Rubinstein, Kerastase Universal Music Group, RUNWAY MAGAZINE, AvantGarde, Matrix, Lancôme, Esquire, Nestlé A.G., People&Gotha, and with various fashion Awards and international nominations like Coiffure Award, Iconique Societas 2009 (fashion photography), Black & White Spider Awards, double nomination Portrait category, nominee Architecture category.
For more than 10 years RUNWAY MAGAZINE published photography of Herman van Gestel. We are presenting new fashion editorial “Lady of the manor“. The concept of the story: “Not sure if it’s an apparition ghost or herself, but the presence of the Lady in the manor can be sensed…“
