MM6 Maison Margiela Spring Summer 2022. Review by Eleonora de Gray, Editor-in-Chief of RUNWAY MAGAZINE.
MM6, Maison Margiela’s contemporary line presented new collection today for Spring Summer 2022 season in Milan.
Belgian designer Martin Margiela’s “Line 6” for his Parisian fashion house was launched in 1997. Today, the contemporary collection is under the signature MM6 and is a sister line to the Maison Margiela women’s collection. MM6 is based on an alternative approach to feminine and casual fashion, taking a modern and contemporary stance with silhouettes, fabrics and prints.
For Spring Summer 2022 MM6 invited public to La Belle Aurore, a beloved Milanese rendezvous. Extroverted and eclectic, consider this collection a heightened celebration of life’s return to our cities’ restaurants and bars.
Presented in Milan’s La Belle Aurore bar, the collection celebrated of how humble pleasures like an aperitivo among friends or a leather jacket’s snug fit can become supernormal events well worth commemorating.
There were many fabulous looks. The RUNWAY MAGAZINE editors choice is the red mylar chessboards jackets and jeans printed directly onto denim, which subtly morph of the body.
The casual theme of the collection brought to every day Pedrolino, the primo zanni, or comic servant at the café where the show took place, or Harlequin, another Commedia dell’arte character.
