Moschino Spring Summer 2020 collection taking inspiration from Pablo Picasso’s expansive oeuvre. The idea putting models into painting frames is not really new (Designers Viktor & Rolf idea ), but Jeremy Scott made it so colorful, that at some point models looked like Russian blue and white ceramics “Gzhel”.
Paintings of Pablo Picasso were the main theme, models looked like Cubist guitar, or Spanish matadors, or the doves of peace . Strangely enough some characters of this Spring Summer 2020 show during Milan Fashion Week were “out of blue”, like Bella Hadid was dressed like harlequin.
Jeremy Scott indeed made this Milan fashion week surreal. “I wanted to play with the couture vibe…opera, Rosalia, vintage Almodovar,” he said.
In the hands of the self-proclaimed “king of camp,” the collection was anything but esoteric; after all, Scott also designed the actual gilded picture frame, inspired by the artist Lorraine O’Grady, that made up Tracee Ellis Ross’s red carpet look for the 2019 camp-themed Met Gala.
