Pharell Williams named new creative director of Louis Vuitton

Pharell Williams named new creative director of Louis Vuitton Menswear. Story by Eleonora de Gray, Editor-in-Chief of RUNWAY MAGAZINE.

Recently Louis Vuitton announced a new creative director of Menswear – Pharell Williams. And it gave a wind from a huge “Uph”…

Pharell Williams appointed creative director of Louis Vuitton menswear

According to previous press-releases and notices this position at Louis Vuitton menswear was supposed to be given to American t-shirt designer Colm Dillane, owner of KidSuper brand. He even had a “trial run” when he created a last menswear collection with the help of Louis Vuitton atelier. The collection of Menswear for Fall Winter 2023-2024 was led by Colm Dillane. And a few days later he had his own show, which turned out to be a drunken, vulgar, rude, crude, and filthy shitshow, so nicely organized that police had to come to calm down this “fashion buzz”. Massive wave of comments of shocked journalists, fashion influencers and guests of Colm Dillane flooded his instagram. But of course he couldn’t care less. Head got so big that it couldn’t fit anywhere, life around his navel simed to be more important to him than anything else. He announced that he is so happy to be the new creative director of  Louis Vuitton and how much money he’s going to get… and therefore basically doesn’t care about anything else.

Frightened people were leaving without a word. It could become a real scary story and the news of Pharell Williams being appointed as new creative director of menswear got everything back to breathing. It is almost Happy Ever After ending. Let’s see what’s going to happen next.

Colm Dillane Kid Super when he saw Pharrell Williams named creative director of Louis Vuitton

According to our sources this decision belongs to Bernard Arnault himself. Pharell Williams is almost the perfect choice after all. Colm Dillane will be part of the designer’s team. He has been put under some sort of observation, as he has a talent after all.

Pharrell Williams Williams, a 13-time Grammy winner, co-founded streetwear label Billionaire Boys Club in 2003 with fashion designer Nigo, collaborated with brands like Louis Vuitton, Tiffany & Co., Moncler and Adidas.

The press-release reads: “Pharrell Williams is a visionary whose creative universes expand from music to art, and to fashion – establishing himself as a cultural global icon over the past twenty years. The way in which he breaks boundaries across the various worlds he explores, aligns with Louis Vuitton’s status as a Cultural Maison, reinforcing its values of innovation, pioneer spirit, and entrepreneurship.”

“I am glad to welcome Pharrell back home, after our collaborations in 2004 and 2008 for Louis Vuitton, as our new Men’s Creative Director. His creative vision beyond fashion will undoubtedly lead Louis Vuitton towards a new and very exciting chapter.” – Pietro Beccari, Louis Vuitton’s Chairman and CEO.

The appointment is effective immediately and his first collection will debut in June during Men’s Fashion Week in Paris. We are all more than excited to see the first collection of menswear Pharrell Williams is going to show us in June 2023.
