Philippe Huppé – Fine crafts are the soul of our France
Philippe Huppé, Member of the French National Assembly, French politician and member of the Economic Affairs Committee, known as an author of several books specializing in the history of the heritage of the region of the Haut Cantons de l ‘Hérault, recently proposed a project related to serious measures to protect and “boost” French National Treasure, Living Heritage – Métiers d’Art and fine craftsmanship.
Philippe Huppé called to support Trades of Excellence, Professionals in the Art Trades, Living Heritage companies, Masters of Art and the Best Workers of France who represent France in the world.
“The Fashion, Tableware, Gastronomy, Crystal, Furniture and Catering industries, among others, constitute this French art of living so much appreciated by the whole world. Their very name is a call for strolling and poetry: featherweight, waxkeeper, fresco artist, lapidary, straw marquetry, passementier, stucco maker, woodturner, gold beater, glyptician, guillocheur, santonnier, embosser on leather, brassworker, feron, tailor, domino, scaler, veloutier …
What trades, what dreams! Professionals of the Art Crafts are generated by wealth in the communities where they live and work. They enrich local life and, well thought out, they can create significant tourist flows. This wealth of know-how is unique in the world and places France at the top of the nations in this field. These 281 activities allow France to stand out well for export and support the luxury goods industry. “
Philippe Huppé’s project is presented to the National Assembly and supported by 93 senators and deputies.
