Pierre Cardin show 2022 – Cosmocorps 3022

Pierre Cardin show 2022 – Cosmocorps 3022. Review by Eleonora de Gray, Editor-in-Chief of RUNWAY MAGAZINE.

Marvelous, fabulous, amazing… Haute Couture fashion week in Paris, which started so dramatically, finished with the show of Pierre Cardin. This show was not just a tribute to the pioneer designer of “space” fashion but a magnificent relaunch of the brand, relaunch of the trend started in the 1960s.

The Pierre Cardin show 2022 – Cosmocorps 3022 took place at Le Bourget Air and Space Museum, known to the world by its exposition of the plains, space rockets and the exposition of all important innovations and technologies related to space.

Thousands of guests were invited to make the voyage from Paris to Le Le Bourget. We passed through the museum, accompanies by the robots, and following the lights, leading us to the Space Rocket Ariane 5, we came to the installed runway.

The space rocket Ariane 5 became part of the show, animated and video images were projected in lights on it, and the models walked out of the rocket. The show was screened in cinema theaters in Moscow (Russia), Mexico City (Mexico), Dallas (Texas, USA) and Tirana (Albania).

Images of young Pierre Cardin and pieces from his collections from the 60s and 70s were projected onto two giant screens framing the rocket. The show was divided on 2 parts. First we saw the pieces of the great master Pierre Cardin, different pieces, from different collections he designed until his death (December 29, 2020). And then we saw the pieces designed by studio Pierre Cardin.

The animated video between two parts of the show was a video ready to be screened as metaverse. That was an imaginative story from 3022 with the models wearing Pierre Cardin newly designed, or redesigned outfits walking through very modern, and still unknown to us but already envisioned by Pierre Cardin fashion house.

And one of the most amazing moments of the show was the moment when on the screen, on the video models from the future were watching the take off, they looked up, and we all had an impression that they looked at the real rocket Ariane 5. At the same time with the special effects, animations and light we all had the feeling that the real rocket was taking off. Tears, applauses gushed during this amazing moment of the show.

And the finale… the dancer in wedding dress brought all guests up. Applauses, “Bravo” from all Editors of media invited tonight – Runway (us), Madame Figaro, Vogue, Elle… you name it, was the definitive launch of this new moment in fashion history, new trend and rebirth of the brand.

Pierre Cardin fashion house is led today by Rodrigo Basilicati-Cardin, another visionary artist, nephew of Pierre Cardin. This show, the mise-en-scène – everything was produced by him. All applauses to relaunch the brand and relaunch the trend belonged to him. It is Rodrigo Basilicati-Cardin today artistic director of the house.

Overwhelmed with the emotions I couldn’t stop being surprised by what I saw. Almost each and every piece of the collection is wonderful, so modern and so wearable. I already noted the pieces I’d definitely like to have. And I was not the only one. Capes, cape-like coats, light and very colorful dresses – everything was so well fitted in today’s trendy fashion style.
