Thom Browne Menswear Spring Summer 2020 Paris all looks. It’s been noted during this Menswear fashion week that men’s fashion is no longer for men. Dramatically broken boundaries of the seasons and collections brought women’s looks into men fashion season. Balmain showed 10 looks out of 100 looks which is acceptable, as it is to show how women’s looks turning into feminine looks for men, or how looks could be mixed and match.
This fashion week in Paris surprised us all when houses showed looks for women more than looks for men during men fashion week. For example Sacai in total collection 35 pieces, showed 25 looks for women and 10 looks for men. What is the reason? “We do whatever hell we want and show what we like” reason? Don’t they know that there are other events for that?… like Resort or Pre-collection and Ready-to-wear (fashion week for women) is not that far away.
This fashion week is definitely belong to women and hermaphrodites now. And it is not just about a trend being feminine, it’s about being extinct. Or perhaps we should look out on the streets where bunch of naked men running around and looking for something to wear.
Another, let’s say surprising, collection for menswear Spring Summer 2020 season. Tutus, skirts, pumpers and balls, with reference to the sea, Japan and Renaissance.
Imagination of Thom Browne took him to American football players on high heels, styled in dresses / kimonos with big shoulders, corsets, huge butts, and giant clown fits, with embroidered boats, dolphins and seahorses. Not wearable, but quite artistic, but he probably needs to have a bigger boat, or ball in that matter…
