Last night Stacey Bendet presented another colorful collection of Alice+Olivia for next Fall. I personally find myself in every piece no matter how different the styles are. This is another season of New York Fashion Week. And I see New York becoming a city of emerging designers. Getting younger never hurts. Although it’s been a while New York lost its crown of first trendssetter city. Today American established designers take inspiration from Europe.
This collection in particular is an absolutely wonderful “mixer-up” of Parisian and Milano styles.
Wonderful longs and short puffy dresses came from postcards of Milan, tweed black and white jackets paired with jeans came from Parisian streets.
Glitter, barocco and embroideries are contemporary interpretations of Stacey Bendet, so New York today gets it all.
“Last night at our show a woman asked me what the defining “pinch me” moment in my career was. Truly every time I see a woman smiling in my clothes I have a “pinch me” moment! I love knowing that our designs bring women a little extra happiness every day, because that is what fashion should be – a way to express the best version of you!
A little swipe of the some of the looks and incredible sets in our presentation last night… From snack foods, to road trips, to rock bands and skate boarders, American art and culture influence so much of what we wear and why we wear it… This celebration is a nod to the past, an homage to the present, and hopefully a collection that women globally can wear with pride in the future…”
