New York Fashion Week witnessed an exhilarating moment as Creative Director Wes Gordon unveiled Carolina Herrera’s Spring Summer 2025 collection, a harmonious blend of classic codes and a youthful, fresh spirit. Drawing inspiration from the brand’s rich history of bold prints and vibrant hues, Gordon crafted a collection that was both a nod to the past and a stride toward a contemporary, carefree future.

At the heart of the collection lies the striking interplay between black and white, punctuated by bursts of vibrant yellow, a hallmark of the Carolina Herrera brand since the 1980s. This season, Gordon’s designs showcased a meticulous attention to graphic glamour, emphasizing a single exclamation point in each look—a stylistic decision that echoes the house’s legacy of bold statements in both fashion and fragrance.

Opening with a study of monochrome, the runway quickly bloomed into a tightly edited palette of four bold hues. Set against the backdrop of 28 Liberty Street, with its Noguchi sunken garden and Jean Dubuffet’s trees at street level, the show was a perfect blend of old-world charm and contemporary allure. Gordon honored Herrera’s codes with designs that paid homage to the house’s signature extravagant sleeves, like a standout black cotton one-sleeve dress, and an array of polka dots splashed across a crocheted mini dress and a sleek knit bandeau top and skirt set.

Among the highlights was a strapless black-on-white polka dot gown, featuring ruffles at the drop waist and a sweeping skirt—a look Gordon described as “chasing the wow.” The gown, much like the entire collection, was a testament to Gordon’s ability to balance tradition with a vibrant, forward-looking spirit.
