Chanel Resort Cruise 2023 Monte-Carlo. Review by Eleonora de Gray, Editor-in-Chief of RUNWAY MAGAZINE.
5-5-22… Coco Chanel lucky number doubled this season. Fabulous collection presented at the Monte-Carlo Beach. French sporty looks, bombers, creative accessories, little round bags – all are little cute wonders of surprising and unexcepted colorful collection presented at Monte-Carlo Beach. And all is graciously wrapped in Chanel.
The collection is very original by its creative view of elegant sporty looks known from 1980s, inspired by the archives of Karl Lagerfeld, and his famous scuba diving jacket. Pink and blue finally came back to Chanel with new touch of Virginie Viard.
That is probably what we were waiting for… to get this fresh Chanel breeze and happiness of summer.

The history of Chanel is crossed by places of inspiration that have contributed to shaping its style, erecting its codes and promoting its creation. Among these emblematic inspirations, Monte-Carlo occupies a special place. Today, through the Cruise 2022/23 collection, Virginie Viard revives the Riviera spirit, imbued with freedom and refinement, which translates the idea of a fashion anchored in modernity.
Inspired by the cosmopolitan beach lifestyle of Monaco and CHANEL’s history along the Côte d’Azur, a first glimpse at the collection reveals silhouettes with an abundance of black and white swimsuits, glamorous sequins, and ensembles in breezy crochet.
Basking in the bright Mediterranean sun, Vivienne Rohner, Mariam de Vinzelle, Lyna Khoudri, HyunJi Shin and Blesnya Minher embody the collection’s spirit in a mosaic of carefree summer vignettes by the pool, on the boat, at the beach, and dressing up for an array of summer sports.
58sec short film directed by Sofia and Roman Coppola.
