Matthieu Blazy’s giant paper swallows hovered in mid-air, yet down on the varnished floorboards, the living ambassadors of the house settled into their perches with well-rehearsed ease.

Kristen Stewart arrived with that unmistakable slouch that turns pristine tailoring into personal rebellion, casually shrugging off fashion week protocol with hands shoved deep into her pockets. Nearby, Margaret Qualley was all smiles and buoyant charm, radiating the sort of sweet, kinetic grace that makes delicate bouclé look delightfully unstudied. The front row shifted registers in seconds. When Jennie of Blackpink took her place, an audible wave of camera shutters rippled across the pit, the singer poised in head-to-toe Rue Cambon polish, perfectly serene amid the media squall. Anchoring the whole tableau was Vanessa Paradis, watching the spectacle with the calm, aristocratic affection of someone who has inhabited the Chanel galaxy since childhood.

No need for grand speeches here. It was a study in pure Parisian ambiance: quilted flap bags tucked neatly beneath crossed ankles, dark sunglasses worn inside despite the gentle gloom, and friends exchanging whispered verdicts over Blazy’s debut under the glass roof. A lovely, sparkling gathering of cinema and sound, celebrating the house’s new dawn before the flock finally took flight.
