Elie Saab Pre-Fall 2022. Review by RUNWAY MAGAZINE.
Elie Saab with the pre-fall tried to give the feeling of passion and verve, as a wind or “Breath of wild” – the name of this new collection. Rich in textures, fierce in lines and fresh in tonalities, the effervescent collection is an expression of wild energy and passion.

Bold, saturated hues and rich, supple textures bring rejuvenating intensity to naturally graceful silhouettes. Large deep teal and warm copper leaf prints on black crepe vine through t-shirts, bomber jackets, kimonos, long shirt dresses and wide-legged pant suits. Large voluminous dresses in bold monochromatic violet and black taffeta ruffles stand in contrast to Eden rose and Tuscan yellow thigh-high slit gowns with subtly embellished neck lines.

Monograms bring complexity to simple leisure wear and overcoats in gradient matelassé while accenting modish bright white cashmere sweaters over black pleated skirts. The couture house signature stands out in chunky metallic accessories and glistening abstracted buckles on waistlines and handbags.

Inspired and self-assured, she makes her presence resoundingly known through her audacious attire that effortlessly carries her into the night. A short black cocktail dress is given metallic depth with silver and gold beaded pockets, bodice and sleeved details. Long sleeve jersey gowns with fierce cut outs that play with opaqueness and transparency provide a new asymmetrical interpretation of the quintessential Elie Saab cinched waist.

Feathers punctuate various looks bring whimsicality and fancy from a bolero jacket over a shimmering gold netting party romper to the bodice of a nude and silver gradient sequin jumpsuit. Evening gowns scream loud in transparent and embroidered layers of multicolour splash that can dance the night away.
