Third day of Haute Couture fashion week Digital was all about the WONDER. And we expected… and we wondered… and then waited a little longer… then we all simply went to the monster special Haute Couture sales in Galeries Lafayette to check pieces of Richard Quinn and Simone Rocha, English designers, who are also creating for Moncler. There we found the wonders: Richard Quinn and Simone Rocha collections Fall-Winter 2020-2021 were on monster sale – Silk coats of Richard Quinn and the long gowns of Simone Rocha for 200 € and the skirts for 50 €.

Concerning Parisian Haute Couture fashion designers, who were suppose to present something at this Haute Couture Fall-Winter 2020-2021. Yes, it is of course quiet complicated to organize when Federation of Haute Couture announced at the end of April 2020 that Haute Couture fashion week is cancelled. Normally designers would do some pieces anyway. It’s not for the fashion week but for the sake of producing something, or clients, or simply taking on business sense and just creating something. Apparently it was not a case.

Maison Margiela was opening the 3d day of Haute Couture fashion week with the 40 sec presentation. No pieces were shown, only the announce was given about the new collection for Milan Fashion week for July 16.

That was basically it. Not a single piece was shown. And apparently This collection was not suitable for Milan fashion week either. So the pictures were just released online…. Apeently Maison Marguela wanted to show Resort for Spring Summer 2021 Women colelction instead, and as it didn’t want, they put it for the Haute Couture Fall-Winter 20201-2021 season either. Well… just shadows lurking in the dark. See all looks HERE.

Jean Paul Gauiltier and Chitose Abe (chosen designer to play with the house heritage) decided to do the NO-SHOW for Haute Couture Fall-Winter 2020-2021 Digital and open the house and show the backstage preparation for the next Haute Couture show scheduled for January 2021.

And then… maybe let’s call it “ecological” project of Elie Saab. He didn’t show any pieces. The video presentation was about his personal sourcing and the nature. We all enjoyed images of the grass, water and the forest… It was not kind of thing we were waiting for but… this is the concept.

PS. And for the little note at the end. We received unusually gigantic schedule for the Men fashion, also digital, fashion week. Normally Haute Couture fashion week and Men fashion week take 7 days in total. And now surprisingly Men fashion week takes 6 days. And at the quick look at it – almost all designers are unknown, with exception of 3 fashion houses.

PPS. Also this evening we all received a press-release of designer JACQUEMUS, who announced that “A year ago we decided to slow down our cycle by showing womenswear and menswear together in January and June. This allows us to reduce the number of shows, mutualize fabrics for menswear and womenswear and slower the pace for my team and partners. More than a creative choice, it’s a sustainable model we believe in and that works for us.”
