The Kids-Tokei Finalists Photo-Competition 2026 Vol. 06 (Part 1) unfolded as an homage to pure style, architectural clarity, and global youth expression. In this special collaboration with RUNWAY MAGAZINE, the competition turned its focus to the legendary house of Chanel, spotlighting its iconic accessories, fine accents, and the timeless aura of its fragrance heritage. Each piece was curated and acquired to build an immersive visual environment where classic French elegance met contemporary young character.
Under the editorial direction of RUNWAY MAGAZINE, the Kids-Tokei studios transformed into an arena of refined restraint, allowing Chanel’s century of innovation to merge with spontaneous, fearless modern spirit.
The Heritage: Chanel No. 5 and the Geometry of a Scent
To understand the essence of Chanel’s accessories and aesthetic universe, one must look back to 1921. Gabrielle “Coco” Chanel sought to create an artificial perfume—”a woman’s perfume with a woman’s scent,” defying the literal, single-flower essences of the era. Partnering with perfumer Ernest Beaux in Grasse, she chose the fifth laboratory sample, an audacious blend dominated by synthetic aldehydes that gave the composition an unprecedented sparkle and abstract complexity.
Just as radical as the scent was the vessel itself. Rejecting the fussy, ornate crystal flacons popular in Paris at the time, Mademoiselle Chanel chose a pristine, geometric glass silhouette reminiscent of an apothecary flask or a whiskey decanter—crowned with an octagonal stopper echoing the geometry of Place Vendôme. Chanel No. 5 was not simply a perfume; it was the birth of modern luxury design. It proved that true modernity strips away excess to reveal pure, unmistakable character.
A Global Vanguard Meets Pure Lines
Finalists gathered from fashion capitals across the world—Tokyo, Paris, Milan, Dubai, New York, and beyond. From toddlers discovering the feel of luxury to seasoned teens commanding the frame, the competition welcomed every background without conventional barriers.
Just as Chanel No. 5 tore down the ornate standards of the Belle Époque, this international gathering echoed Chanel’s core philosophy: freedom of movement, stripped-down elegance, and individuality. Luxury is not a heavy costume; it is the natural presence of the person wearing it.

Editorial Direction: Narrative and Poise
Under RUNWAY MAGAZINE’s editorial lens, the photoshoots captured natural interactions with Chanel’s signature visual codes:
- The Unrehearsed Moment: A spontaneous smile framed by clean, graphic monochrome lines.
- Authentic Spirit: Letting the child’s distinct personality take center stage rather than a practiced pose.
- The Power of Simplicity: Capturing the timeless confidence that comes when high design meets natural ease.
Where Heritage Meets Imagination
The Kids-Tokei Finalists Photo-Competition 2026 – Chanel Vol. 06 (Part 1) demonstrated that Chanel’s minimalist rigor belongs as much to tomorrow’s generation as it did to 1921.
A new generation wore the legacy.
A new generation reimagined it.
And the story continues.
