Continuing his tradition of staging Louis Vuitton Cruise shows at some of the world’s most remarkable architectural structures, creative director Nicolas Ghesquiere chose this Louis Kahn-designed Brutalist masterpiece to present his next collection.
The Salk Institute “A facade to the sky” is both a treasure of modern architecture and an internationally renowned research institute. Designed by Louis Kahn in 1965, the Brutalist structure outside of San Diego became perfect backdrop to Nicolas Ghesquiere’s presentation.
Merging bold lines with an intimate scale, the Salk Institute in San Diego California inspired Nicolas Ghesquiere to stage Louis Vuitton Resort Cruise 2023 show at this Brutalist architectural masterpiece.
The story of the collection is a story of a lonely samurai, inspired by historical clothes of Japanese hereditary military nobility. Nicolas Ghesquiere drew a modern nobleman crossing the desert of human concept in architecture.
