Emmanuel Macron at the opening of this exhibition said: “The long deindustrialization that France has experienced over the past thirty years has hit the production forces that manufacture in France. Some have lost their jobs. Others saw their territory deserted after the closure of the company which concentrated activity in the region. Many people have had the feeling of losing ground in an open world.

Today, we are taking control of our future. Our individual future with the creation of jobs, synonymous with income, but also with emancipation and success. And our collective future with the fight we are waging for ecology, in particular against waste and greenhouse gas emissions. Difficulties persist, but a page is turning: the “Made in France” is experiencing new momentum.

For a long time, this certificate of origin was a simple label affixed to your consumer items, equivalent of know-how and guarantee of quality. Today, behind this label are the preserved or reclaimed destinies of the women and men who produced these objects.

You know them, they often live near you. Through their work, they can live, support their families, but they also support their territory, your territory. They give it dynamism and identity.

Behind this label is also an ecological promise: the object that you are holding in your hands has not traveled thousands of kilometers by plane to reach you.

Every day, without necessarily realizing it, by filling your shopping basket, you are doing a civic act. By choosing a product made in France and not made elsewhere, you have the power to support your country, your economy, your jobs, and your fight for ecology. And these choices can be made without closing our country and pretending that what is produced elsewhere is unwelcome in France.

“The Great Made in France Exhibition is a testament to the know-how and innovative spirit of our companies. The French are more and more interested in buying products made in France because they know that they thus contribute to employment on the territories and support industries which reduce their environmental footprint. Our responsibility is to expand this range of responsible products by supporting French manufacturers,” – Agnes Pannier-Runacher said.
