Tom Ford Spring Summer 2022 New York Fashion Week. Review by Eleonora de Gray, Editor-in-Chief of RUNWAY MAGAZINE.
“Blink it to me, baby!” Tom Ford for Spring Summer 2022 season pulled out his 90s memories and blinked, winked to public with shiny silhouettes. Being a Chairman and all of CFDA – American Fashion Federation he didn’t bring just a blinks from 90s, he also brought as a sponsor known counterfeiting goods designer Dapper Dan from Harlem, chased by FBI in 90s, and today get him all cleaned up, bright and shine, praising him as “legendary streetwear designer“, a hero of new age and fashion, I guess.
So today’s New York Fashion Week 2021 is brought to us by “true genius”, like Vogue called him, “legendary streetwear designer” (CFDA) Dapper Dan. Ta-da-dam!!!
American Fashion Federation (CFDA), leaded by Steven Kolb and Tom Ford, opened up a path to legitimize all illegal producers, counterfeit goods designers. To put it simple, it is an open invitation to all starting from this New York Fashion Week 2021 – go, produce counterfeit goods, do anything illegal you like, and if you are good you’ll be cleaned up, you’ll get investment, and be presented as a honorable sponsor of new New York Fashion Week.
Strangely enough a little more than 6 months ago Steven Kolb and Tom Ford (February 2021) wrote an open letter to President Joe Biden with demand to organize a special commission and appoint a senator to deal with counterfeit, copyright and trademark infringements. Apparently counterfeit goods designers looked like a better solution. After all behind Dapper Dan are still all Harlem hustlers and local drug dealers from old times.
Perhaps Tom Ford though this is a good time to get united…. Have it blink!
