Balenciaga Winter 2022 Campaign. Review by Eleonora de Gray, Editor-in-Chief of RUNWAY MAGAZINE.
This is the story of homeless trashy people travelling the world, staying in luxury hotels, with Kim Kardashian starring in it, striking this ugliness as Aphrodite (or better Afro-Dita) from the face of the Earth.
This campaign was suppose to present Fall-Winter 2022-2023 collection. In March the public was shown 360° trash taking show. The statement of Demna Gvasalia, designer of Balenciaga, announced that this collection is dedicated to Ukraine, the immigrants and homeless people. Now campaign is a story about these homeless people traveling the world, preferably in summer, staying at the luxury hotels, and caring their trash-bags for €1400.
Demna is often claiming to have moral standards or beliefs, but his actions do not stand. Pro-Russian designer (born in Soviet Georgia) has deep disrespect to the moral European and American values. Meaning of humanity is not known to Deman, he often treated moral values as trash. As an example, he brought beautiful Haute Couture brand from Ball Room to rubbish dump. In May he shows Balenciaga x Adidas collection as BDSM show at New York Stock Exchange building, as if primary American value is a money, and surrounded it by all kinds of perversity, mocking American social structure. It is very known pro-Russian stereotype, the way how pro-Putin population sees it.
By the way did you know that all sneakers, leather bags of Balenciaga, MADE IN CHINA. No secret – look at their web-site, product description.
Demna you, Balenciaga!
