“Now that Rousteing no longer needs to prove himself,” – announced reputed fashion media. “If it’s not part of your DNA, there’s no point in jumping on the same bus,” – said Olivier Rousteing, “creative” director of Balmain.
And he took a bus to the United States. 2 weeks ago Olivier Rousteing, Balmain Creative Director, was presented with the Parsons Table Award by Anna Wintour for his “visionary work” at 74th Annual Parsons Benefit. Michelle Obama couldn’t wait to see what he will do next. And it means “welcome”. Beyoncé does it all. Oh…you won’t be disappointed!
“His influence became dramatic and transporting. He was always always ahead of his time… And it has been wonderful to watch Olivier deepen in his openness and his service whether he is organizing his Balmain Festivals, or mentoring young designers, one after another. It is that mentorship, I think, that brings Olivier’s path the full circle… Within the history of Balmain it seems to me this is an amazing connection between Oscar’s (de la Renta) way of living and giving back and Olivier’s life. We need more generosity in fashion, more leaders like Olivier. I want to celebrate him with Oscar’s memory and the message that what’s given is given back. Thank you, Olivier. We are so grateful for the extraordinary selfless work that you do,” – Anna Wintour
“I’m so excited to join you in celebrating Olivier Rousteing. For years Olivier has led up the fashion world with extraordinary collections, leading the way with his groundbreaking designs that innovate, captivate and inspire. But what makes Olivier so iconic? What makes his time at Balmain so historic? Is not just a fact that he is a black person leading a Paris fashion house, or that he took on a role at the age of 25. It’s the way he continues to commit himself to bringing others to the fold, demanding diversity, demanding creativity, and changing the way the world approaches fashion. It is a remarkable accomplishment. And that is why I’m so thrilled to join you all in raising a glass to a true visionary! Olivier, I’m so proud of you! Congratulations on this incredible honor! I can’t wait to see what you will do next!” – Michelle Obama
Do these people have a service to verify the facts? They should… Here is definition of copy: Copy is a similar or identical version of a thing, reproduction. Plagiarism is the practice of taking someone else’s work or ideas and passing them off as one’s own.
No copy, no plagiarism were called “visionary” before! Designers of counterfeit goods were not honored! Why Now?
“True Visionary” Counterfeit
Olivier Rousteing “visionary” thing boils down to this: for years he shamelessly copied the work of great designers like Thierry Mugler, Chanel by Karl Lagerfeld, Hermes, Moschino, Gucci, and many others. His pieces were removed from the publications and from the stores for COUNTERFEIT.
The company’s turnover got so low that Balmain, like anybody else of his rank, ended up… where he should be… in cheap Parisian touristic outlets for 49 bucks.
These are indeed ti-shorts of Balmain, and not knock-offs. I checked.
But Beyoncé likes it. And with her and Jay Z approval Olivier Rousteing finally stepped into a big scene where he was praised by Anna Wintour and Michelle Obama. Several costumes for her new album Renaissance was totally his “work”. But how she or Michelle Obama would imagine themselves wearing a copy of Chanel, Hermes or Thierry Mugler by Olivier Rousteing? I’d LOVE TO KNOW.
Olivier Rousteing – Cowboy boots for Balmain Resort 2024
So as far as visionary goes, Olivier Rousteing decided to go far. He got himself “Ready for AMERICA” send off, cowboy boots, and “Just some roughed up desperadoes” country tune. Because now with such welcome he’ll bring to the USA all his favorite looks from French and Italian Couture houses.
But where did he get his cowboy boots from? From a Texan of course, Daniel Roseberry – a creative director of Parisian Haute Couture House Schiaparelli.
In 2021-2022 Texan Daniel Roseberry started his carrier in French Haute Couture fashion house Schiaparelli by making replicas of Thierry Mugler (metallic corset) and Jean Paul Gaultier (Iconic cone-bra created for Madonna in 1990s) designs and proposing them to different American and Asian singers, including Beyoncé. And he got burned… Beyoncé didn’t want to be Madonna. Read more about it in the last chapter of an article dedicated to the Schiaparelli exhibition.
So in 2022 Jay Z gave Beyoncé styling to Olivier Rousteing. Olivier Rousteing is the best for replicating. So happily ever after he replicated Daniel Roseberry designs – big round hats, and toreador bolero jackets. See as an example Schiaparelli Fall Winter 2022-2023
This Balmain Resort 2024 is a wonderful masterpiece of replicas of Daniel Roseberry designs, who tried for several years to add his personal touch to Schiaparelli Haute Couture. And like always I can spot Chanel, Prada, Gucci replicas in this new Balmain Resort 2024 collection. I just drop one example and let you to handle the rest. This collection like any other collection of Balmain is full of replicas of different luxury brands – you can spot Chanel, Prada, Gucci… I let you to discover the rest.
Well let’s add cowboy boots here. America can’t wait….
Welcome, Olivier Rousteing, to the United States!
