So who we have here:
Thierry Mugler, Jean Paul Gaultier, Daniel Roseberry for Schiaparelli, John Galliano for Dior and Maison Margiela, Chanel. Oh no… It’s not an exhibition, it’s just Balmain! New collection of Olivier Rousteing is full of badly remade, reproduced, and simply copied looks from these designers.

He has this “Little Prince” look going on all the time when he is in public. All shy, and all. Faking it, no wonder. He really needs to change it already and go blond. Britney Spears looks with this “Oops… I did it again” it’s really more of Olivier Rousteing style.

It’s the “Beauty of Egypt” he said, it’s “Tutankhamun’s mask” he said. “Mummy bandages” so cleverly Olivier Rousteing called it, according to his press-release remind him about this period of time when he was suffering terrible burns and he was bandaged like mummy himself. That is why they become a signature of his collection.

But in fact this is his way to admire, always been, Jean Paul Gaultier, who actually created this pattern – clothing out of thin stripes. These designs Olivier Rousteing found in the archives of Jean Paul Gaultier when he was guest-designer for the last Haute Couture collection.

Large golden pieces came from Daniel Roseberry and the Hotel Schip (Maison Schiaparelli). Originally these pieces came from Elsa Schiaparelli, who was so fond of Salvador Dali.

There are always pseudo-Chanel jackets – interpreted from the 1990s by Karl Lagerfeld. Olivier Rousteing was indeed big admirer of Karl Lagerfeld and keeps reproducing his pieces for the last couple of years now. This entire collection of Olivier Rousteing incpired by the last collection of Karl Lagerfeld – Chanel Metiers d’Art Show in New York 2018-2019 in Metropolitan museum.

And yes… Thierry Mugler pieces. Who would have missed these fabulous creations, and especially if the exhibition Couturissime just opened in New York.

Mixing Mariniere (Marine shirt) of Jean Paul Gaultier with stop tape of Balenciaga, and golden parts from Schiaparelli and Thierry Mugler – that’s the same old “mix and match” style of Olivier Rousteing.

Oops, how Balenciaga look for Kim Kardashian from Fall Winter 2022-2023 came in here?

Olivier Rousteing said that his clients are increasingly drawn to individual, atelier-fashioned pieces — “like art”. Meaning the revenue of the Balmain house decreasingly goes down, as no less and less people want to buy cheap imitations.

Balmain sales 70 percent off
